The aged domain, Yellow.com, has changed hands, being acquired by Media Options for an undisclosed sum in Bitcoin.
Drew Rosener, founder of Media Options, announced the exceptional domain acquisition earlier today:
“We hedged our bet and traded in some Bitcoin to buy Yellow.com ! Only time will tell which side of that bet was smart money!”
A cryptocurrency believer, Rosener raved about the exchange:
“Digital assets rock! The intersection of #Domains &
#Bitcoin/#Crypto is the most exciting place in the World right now!”
Yellow.com was sold to Media Options by Andy Booth. (Edit: Not James Booth)
Media Options is on a roll, recently, acquiring Rooster.com and several other quality domain names.
Congratulations to Media Options for this colorful domain name acquisition! 😀
Not acquired from James Booth. That is “fake news”.
MO : Info came from Andy Booth, aren’t the Booth brothers working together?
Looks like Yellow.com was once owned by Marchex.

Nivens McTwisp – That was a long time ago.
DomainGang — According to the previously posted link, on December 4th, 2015 the company WHOIS for Yellow.com showed MARCHEX SALES LLC -THIS DOMAIN MAY BE FOR SALE- http://WWW.ARCHEODOMAINS.COM/YELLOW.COM?UTM_SOURCE=W
In April of 2015, Michael Berkens had reported Marchex sold a domain portfolio of of 200k+ domains to GoDaddy for $28.1 million. I don’t know if Yellow.com was included in that sale. https://www.thedomains.com/2015/04/22/marchex-sells-its-domain-portfolio-of-200k-domains-to-godaddy-for-28-1-million/
In August of 2013, WHOIS said Marchex Sales – THIS DOMAIN MAY BE FOR SALE http://www.mdnhinc.com/contact?dom=YELLOW.COM. I think it’s safe to assume they owned this domain for at least a few years prior to whenever they sold it. On July 9th of 2015, Yellow.com was under privacy, however, privacy was soon removed and by December of 2015, WHOIS once again showe Marchex. I assume that mean’s Marchex didn’t include this domain in their 28.1m sale to GD.
I don’t know how common it is for a primary color.com to change hands. Thus, I am not sure how many times Yellow.com changed hands since December 2015. Again, I am only pointing out where it was once owned by,…
Nivens McTwisp – Two years plus is a LONG time in domainer years. The domain was sold by Andy Booth.
DomainGang – Not questioning who it was sold by. I’ll take your word for it, and congrats to Mr. Booth!
I just wonder how many hands it may have changed before it got to Mr. Booth, and what other price tags may have been attached to it.
