The domain community was in shock last year, when Rick Schwartz announced his retirement.
The truth is, retiring from blogging is one thing and from active domain investments is another.
The Domain King is actually actively engaging in domain sales in the thousands of dollars, and in actions to protect his intellectual property.
But yes, Rick’s decision to “take vacations” away from domaining is quite understandable. Anyone should do the same, whether you take a short weekend break, a longer sabbatical, or a really long vacation.
With all that in mind, it’s funny that Take.Vacations, a gTLD gem once owned by Rick Schwartz, is now up for sale.
Rick decided to not renew the domain, it seems; it’s now listed on Flippa where it should fetch a pretty penny. After all, renewal is only $23.90 /year at Uniregistry.
Nice!
A similar domain, One.vacations, apparently sold for $5,500 dollars.
What would you rather do, take real vacations like Rick Schwartz does, or own a great brandable gTLD such as Take.Vacations? 😀
