Domain entrepreneur, Rick Schwartz, is to portray legendary explorer of the Americas, Christopher Columbus. The stunning news was announced earlier today at Rick’s blog:
“Good morning folks. What a special day today, it’s Columbus Day – an important day of infamy when in 1492 Columbus sailed to the new world. That was 500 years before I registered my first domain name and as you know, numbers are of important significance. For that matter, I was invited to portray the great explorer and fellow Freemason in an upcoming movie.”
The stunning resemblance of Rick Schwartz to an epic character such as Christopher Columbus is attributed to the good looks and tidy goatee, along with the stylish spectacles that Rick is famous for.
No wonder the director of “Christopher Columbus – Venturing into the unknown” decided to cast Rick Schwartz in the leading role.
The movie is due to be released in 2012 – a full 520 years after Christopher Columbus reportedly discovered America – second only to the Vikings.
Being full-blooded Italian, one look at this gave me a severe “spit my drink all over my computer screen” moment. Funny as hell, but who would play Ferdinand and Isabella?
David – Ferdinand will be played by Ammar Kubba – a curly wig will be used, of course. Not sure about Isabella 😀
Roddie Beckstrom could play the Catholic Kings brillantly – especially Isabella.
By the way,Columbus wasn’t Italian at all.But the man who lent his name to America WAS Italian – now isn’t that interesting!
