Like every other industry, competition in domaining is sometimes intense.
Domainers face off one another for good deals on domains, bidding against each other in domain auctions, and rush to hand-register the latest trends, news and keywords – preferably, as a .com.
There are a few things that a domainer should not do onto another colleague domainer, however.
We gathered the most important ones and we present you the top five:
- Don’t try to screw a fellow domainer over. Don’t lie, cheat or fake your way in order to complete a sale, karma is a bitch.
- The same goes with words: if you act like a friend towards them and talk down on them behind their back, it means you’re a douche. Don’t be a douche, karma is a bitch.
- Seeking their advice, time and resources, only to ignore them. That’d make you an askhole. Don’t be an askhole, because karma is a bitch.
- If you offer to help them out, either do it for free or define a fixed type of reward you both agree upon. E.g., don’t try to sell a domain on their behalf, adding a commission you didn’t discuss in the first place. If you do, you’d be unethical. Don’t be unethical, karma’s a bitch.
- Don’t white-lie, brag, or flat out lie about your achievements, expertise and credentials, just to gain ranking in domaining. Those that do, are sick mofos; you don’t want to be a sick mofo, because – you guessed it – karma is a bitch!
Now off you go, get some domain sales going.
