We have received confirmation from Michael Castello, that the lengthy, seedless, mostly yellow fruit known as banana has been tentatively sold in its .com incarnation.
Following our article “Banana Disappeared!” that pondered on the current status of the domain name, Banana.com, Michael Castello commented thus:
“The big banana is in Asia. haha Will have more news soon. Very interesting times. Too many NDAs these days but this has been the best sales period I have ever seen for premiums in the 20 years in the business. Most would never know it. The big deals are staying secret. We are making a deal now that will blow the lid off the place. The NDA is short but the full price WILL be revealed.”
This is exciting news, that deserves its own dedicated post – not to mention, an updated picture.
We have therefore updated the current status of Banana.com to depict a Chinese woman devouring a banana; we strive to present domain news accurately, even if our sense of humor is perceived as raunchy or over-sexed by some Sunday schoolers.
Congratulations to the Castello Bros, and we’ll keep our eyes and bananas peeled for more news on this remarkable domain! 😀
How did you find that photo of the buyer for Banana.com?
David – I had to Google “Who is the buyer of Banana.com” 😀
Very interesting meaning for the word banana in Chinese society. I wonder if any Chinese readers could comment on the current site’s use and what the video is showing. Maybe it will be a news site for expats? Another great sale by Michael and David and for generic .com’s
