If you never heard of the Kering Group, here’s the buzz for you: It’s a French mega-corporation that manages apparel and accessory brands, such as:
- Luxury: Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Brioni, Christopher Kane, McQ, Stella McCartney, Tomas Maier, Sergio Rossi, Boucheron, Dodo, Girard-Perregaux, JEANRICHARD, Pomellato and Qeelin.
- Sport & Lifestyle: Puma, Volcom, Cobra, Electric and Tretorn.
In other words, if you infringe on one of their “babies” you *will* expect a response. Kering operates, naturally, from Kering.com.
The proliferation of new gTLDs opens up the Internet namespace to a myriad of possibilities, including trademark abuse.
In this case, the registration of the domain Kering.buzz and its PPC parking, was a non-brainer for the single panelist, James A. Carmody, who ordered the unnamed Respondent to hand the domain over.
