First lowball #domain offer of 2018 has arrived

It was early in the morning of January 1st, 2018, when the Uniregistry app dinged.

Still basking in the afterglow of a night full of amazing meals, heavy drinking and assorted debauchery, I checked my phone.

There was an offer sitting there, for $20,000 dollars for one of my domains, and roughly $2k above the minimum asking price.

Excited, I checked the credentials of the buyer, who had only left his first name, “Hasim.”

The Pakistani buyer’s email message said: “Want buy contact thank.

I wasn’t overflowing with warm feelings over this, but after all, a $20k offer isn’t exactly one to turn down, so I had some coffee and emailed the guy.

Twenty minutes later, a message arrived.

“Sorry no offer 20$k I mean 20$ but computer no allow message if not high offer thank.”

And there you have it, the first lowball offer of the year had arrived, using this abominable technique to bypass the minimum asking price at the Uniregistry Market.

Munching on some freshly cooked sausage, I sent him an email that the domain would be his to have, for free, and waited for the response.

A few moments later, I followed up with another email that said, “just kidding thank.”

Along with enjoying a great Dutch baby full of yummy goodness, what a great way to kickstart 2018. Happy New Year!
