Media Options is on a roll, and today announced that they sold yet another domain matching an animal name: Bee.com.
Not only it’s a dictionary word, it’s also a three letter domain, if you’re a domain purist.
Said Drew Rosener:
“We have successfully sold Bee.com ! @MediaOptions is kicking butt! Congrats to buyer & seller!”
Registered in 1997 – most likely, for the second time – the domain Bee.com was at the time the web site of Colorado based, Bee Group.
By 2006, it was acquired by Pets Unlimited, owners of Dog.com.
In 2010, Bee.com was acquired by MBL 2010 Ltd. of the United Kingdom, distributors of home entertainment products.
A year ago, the domain went under privacy, but presumably remained in the hands of the British company, MBL Group.
The Bee.com sale was brokered by Media Options, and there was no mentioning of the amount involved, or who is the new owner. They most likely have the bee’s knees.
