Following standard operating procedure on press releases, CentralNic sent its Monday news about its merger with KeyDrive, at a time when most domain industry bloggers are asleep.
“We send out press releases when nobody can read them, and only bloggers with small kids up since 5am can share the news,” said Andy Churley, Group Marketing Director for CentralNic.
“The good news is we have agreed to join forces with KeyDrive, based in Luxembourg, for a deal valued at $35.8 million dollars,” said Andy, adding: “The not so good news is that Brexit is going to take place regardless.”
By merging with KeyDrive, London-based CentralNic expands its domain registrar stable, complete with expert staff and ample amounts of corporate vision.
Alex Siffrin, founder and CEO of KeyDrive, will become CEO of the new company, with plenty of shares in his portfolio.
That’s a blow to the face of US President, Donald Trump, who does not like Europeans lately.
