Matthew Sfyris - teen domainer - is suing his parents to invest in quality domains.
They say Americans are lawsuit-happy but nothing beats this latest example of pure entrepreneurial ingenuity.
Matthew Sfyris, a 14 year old from Tennessee is suing his parents, Rupert and Jill – not for any obvious reason such as abuse or neglect – but because due to their long engagement and subsequent health problems, he was born several years “too late”.
“I started learning about computers, the internet and stuff”, says 14-year old Matthew Sfyris. “All my buddies at school were born to parents that are now in their 40’s tops. My folks are 58 and 52.”
Indeed, Matthew’s mother had him when she was 38 due to fertility complications. Although it’s a serious reason, Matthew is not at all thankful to be born.
Instead, he complains he missed all the good domain action.
“I read about all the great domain names one could have registered by hand 10 to 15 years ago and I am so mad! “, says Matthew – adding: “This is so frustrating, having to pay $10 to register crap domains today. My parents deprived me of a normal domainer childhood!”
Many late starters with domaining never heard of the domain “gold rush” era, while others were still in their diapers in the mid-90’s.
Matthew Sfyris insists that he can tap into his parents’ funds by winning this lawsuit; he plans to invest the money in some dictionary .com domains and LLL .com’s
