In April of this year, we reported that the premium, aged domain X3.com was stolen from its legitimate owner.
At the time, Mr. AJ Alfieri-Crispin, shared the agony of witnessing the domain disappear from his registrar account in the course of 25 minutes.
The owner’s Odyssey ended about a month ago, when the 3rd District Federal court in Virginia found the case in the owner’s favor.
Mr. Alfieri-Crispin retained the services of ESQwire.com, a domainer-friendly law firm, who acted as their legal council for the federal lawsuit against the domain thief, who had transferred it to the Chinese domain registrar, Ename.
X3.com was moved to the previous domain registrar, eNom, shortly after, and once a few technical complications were overcome, the domain is now back in Mr. Alfieri-Crispin’s possession.
With domain theft rampant in recent months, domain owners are advised to enable two-factor authentication to protect their digital assets.
Great reporting DG
Hire – Thanks. 😀
The “3rd District Federal court in Virginia”? You might want to double check that. Ari is good, but usually not in courts that don’t exist.
Thanks John. 😀 3rd Circuit it is then.
