Experience.com is a premium domain that was sold late last year, according to our research. In late 2020, the domain was under exclusive brokerage by SAW.com.
The domain Experience.com was acquired by BuyersRoad Inc., a software company in California. Their brand changed from Social Survey to Experience, and acquiring the matching .com domain was a smart move. The domain is fully developed as a web site.
Experience.com markets itself as the “Home of the World’s Most Impactful Experience Management Platform.”
Experience.com has also filed an application with the USPTO to register the matching trademark, EXPERIENCE.COM.
According to the application, the mark is for the following services:
Downloadable computer software for customer relationship management; downloadable computer software for providing information concerning ratings, reviews, and recommendations on merchants, events, and activities; downloadable computer software for business-to-business customer service analysis
Consumer survey services; conducting business and market research surveys; market analysis and research services; business consultation services in the field of customer service; business management consulting and advisory services in the field of customer service; statistical analysis and reporting services for business purposes; providing business information in the field of point of sale transactions, payment transactions, voucher redemption, appointment scheduling, customer relationship management, customer location detection and awareness, inventory management, merchant transactions, business performance, and customers; business to business direct marketing services
Software as a service, namely, providing non-downloadable software for customer relationship management; computer software consultancy services relating to customer service
The application was filed with an “intend to use” clause.
Why was the mark EXPERIENCE.COM applied for registration?
It’s an ongoing trend among owners of generic domain names, following the decision by SCOTUS on the Booking.com trademark application.
Since then, dozens of generic domain names have been applied to be registered as trademarks, inclusive of the TLD. We keep track of these applications, and so far none has been decided upon.
As of January 5th, 2021, BOOKING.COM is a registered trademark with the USPTO.
Will these applications become the new norm? Watch this video from NamesCon Online 2020.
