9P.com – Another stolen domain name ends up at Chinese registrar Ename

The owners of the domain name 9P.com alerted us that the domain has been stolen from their GoDaddy account, sometime in late December.

Presumably targeted for its use as a short, easy to remember repository of free online games, 9P.com was stolen not too long after it was renewed for a period of 10 years.

On December 23rd, its WHOIS information was changed without any authorization, and the domain was transferred to the notorious Chinese domain registrar, Ename.com.

The Registrant info at the time was changed to the following:

Currently, the WHOIS information is obfuscated, and the domain is parked at Bodis to capitalize on its apparently massive game-related traffic; we are not sure if it has been sold by the thieves already. Update: Bodis has now removed the domain from its ad-serving network.

If you receive any offers to acquire the domain 9P.com keep in mind that it is currently listed as stolen.
