AI-driven content will dominate every industry in the years to come. With ChatGPT only the beginning, artificial intelligence as the brains of content generation will lay down new pathways to creativity.
A fine example is a project called “WTF Does This Company Do” created by Indian programmer, Krish, as an intelligent summarizer of the context and purpose of live web sites.
Simply put, the WTF Does This Company Do project scans a web site, or distinct URL for that matter, returning a summary of its purpose and content.
Here’s what it assessed for DomainGang.com:
“DomainGang.com is an online magazine that provides entertainment and information related to the domaining industry. It features articles, news, interviews, stories, and manuals related to domains, domainers, and domain investing. It also features humorous content such as parodies and comics. The website includes a section dedicated to famous domainers and another one with archives. It has ads and sponsored posts as well.”
This is pretty damn accurate and it’s a summary that is generated from elements of the active web site, not just an “About Us” section.
The WTFDTCD service also features a “Roast the website” button that generates tongue-in-cheek summaries such as this:
“Welcome to DomainGang.com, where the only thing more convoluted than the domain industry is our website. From the confusing layout and irrelevant ads to the pseudo news and made-up stories, this is the place to go for all your domain-related entertainment needs. Not sure what you’re looking for? Don’t worry, you won’t find it here. We have a selection of articles about famous domainers, stories and manuals, and short news that are so out of date, you’ll be forgiven for thinking you’ve just stepped into a time machine. We also provide domain-related crime and law news, domain memes, comics and domain socialite stories, which are all just thinly veiled attempts to keep you coming back for more. So if you’re looking for a place to waste your time, look no further than DomainGang.com – where nothing is as it seems!”

Not every web site returns a useful summary, however, and some fail completely. Still, it’s a great idea and a quick demonstration of what the future of AI entails.
