The Chinese domain market has been slowing down for several weeks now.
Early predictions for a glorious performance have yet to come to fruition, unfortunately.
The problem isn’t the lack of Chinese domain investors, who remain active as ever, but the realization that the lack of end-user sales affects prices. We’ve seen that with the plummeting of LLLL “Chips” to levels unforeseen in 2015.
As we keep track of short domain sales of between 2 to 4 characters, it’s time to expand beyond just .CN and .COM due to the lack of volume in sales.
We will therefore expand the gamut of reported sales for .NET domains as well.
Today’s list contains a LL .com that changed hands recently, RP.com. This two letter gem used to be in the possession of Future Media Architects about a year ago.
Both the previous and the current registrant are in China. Canadian domain investor, George Kirikos, doesn’t need to adjust the numbers for LL .com possession percentage between Western and Chinese domain ownership. 😀

We are seeing more NNN and NNNN .net sales occurring, as prices for LLL and LLLL .com domains stabilize.
