Google unveiled new methods of haptic search on mobile phones and it’s rolling out the feature on its Android OS:
Today we unveiled Circle to Search, a new way to search anything on your Android phone screen without switching apps. With a simple gesture, you can select images, text or videos in whatever way comes naturally to you — like circling, highlighting, scribbling or tapping — and find the information you need right where you are.
So what’s Circle to Search all about?
Exactly what it says! You mark with your finger or a stylus the area of the screen that you want to search for. Depending on the detail and the item, you are given more or less accurate results on the nature of the item or the person depicted.
The method involves circling, highlighting, scribbling or tapping the area of interest in order to find the information you need. It’s driven by AI technology, of course!
Naturally, the domain name CircleToSearch.com has been registered already and that took place in November of last year. Perhaps someone from Google leaked the information?
Additionally, the less likable domain Circle2Search.com is also registered and listed for sale on Afternic.
