The top tier three letter domain, CPU.com, failed to meet its reserve on NameJet, where it has been on auction for several days.
Despite hopes that tech industry giants such as Intel and AMD would join the auction and drive up its price, the closing bid was for “just” $131,000 dollars.
Estibot’s valuation of CPU.com is $750,000 dollars, which we find a bit conservative but not too far from this domain’s worth.
A total of 123 bids by 123 bidders were placed, led by NameJet user hejako who made a gallant effort for this domain, bidding $131,000 dollars.
The auction was initially set with a reserve of $201,000 dollars, but was lowered between $100,001 and $200,000 dollars after the leading bids were placed. We don’t know if that was in agreement between the auction venue, the seller and the buyer.
