Did Zillow choose RealEstate.com over Property.com?

Back in December of 2016 we noticed that Rick Schwartz’s domain, Property.com, was redirecting to Trulia.com.

The latter, is a sister company of Zillow, a multi-billion dollar corporation, with diversified investments in the real estate market.

Sometime in January, Property.com was re-pointed to DomainKing.com, where currently the domain is marked with a “Deal Pending” indication and a price tag of $2.85 million dollars.

Today, Zillow announced that they are rolling out RealEstate.com as a new consumer real estate search portal:

“The portal is “designed for millennial homebuyers,” according to a release about the launch, and will source listings directly from brokerages, franchises and MLSs. The URL, which currently directs to Trulia and was procured by Zillow during its acquisition of Trulia, will go live in May.”

The question is, did Zillow choose RealEstate.com over Property.com, for this project, or is this a separate deal?

We cannot wait to hear the big news from Rick Schwartz!

This is a little confusing. Rick owns Property.com, right … but not RealEstate.com? Was RealEstate.com under Whois privacy? I have no memory of whether that was ever a developed site.

When I hear “property” I think of land. When I hear “real estate” I think houses, condos, units, commercial property, It is great to see a name like this finally put into use!

M.Menius – Rick owns Property.com that was pointed to Trulia (which is owned by Zillow).
