Domainer buys his own domain at Sedo

The new Sedo marketplace is a modern wonder of domain inventory;  with more 15 million domains it’s a miracle that everything runs smoothly and with precision for its 1.5 million account holders.

Or does it?

In a remarkable incident last week, Boris Skuraski from Poland – a well-known domainer and mass development entrepreneur – somehow managed to purchase a domain from no other than his own self.

“I looked domain in Sedo inventory, searched and thought: hmmm, this domain good, I buy. So enter bid then forget about, it was weekend. Had drinks with friends at the dog race and went home. Found email telling Sell this domain? So  I sell.”

After the weekend was over and Boris became sober again, he realized that he had placed an offer on his own domain and had accepted it, no less.

“We rarely have situations like these”, said Maria Strumffkeiser from the German headquarters of Sedo. “In this case it’s obvious that the buyer and seller are the same person. Despite the fact that they are legally obligated to carry on with the sales agreement, we decided to let this one slide and lose the 10% commission”, added Maria, smiling.

It’s evident that managing one’s domain portfolio has become rather difficult in recent days, with the proliferation of parking services, new TLDs and just plain absent-minded stupor caused by alcohol.
