XYZ domains.
We’ve been following the performance of the .XYZ gTLD and post weekly reports on its numbers.
The news is that dot .XYZ domains have now less than 800,000 registrations, dropping from 803,856 to a new total of 791,038 XYZ domains.
The numbers represent the number active domains that exist in the zone file, and therefore exclude any with expired and pending delete status.
The drop represents a 12,818 loss in a week, or 1.59%.
Our previous reports show that there is a slowing of the drop in absolute and percentage numbers.
In other words, the downwards trend is beginning to flatten out, indicating that a plateau of the dropping rate should be reached soon.
In absolute numbers, dot .XYZ is still the top gTLD domain according to ntldstats.
In my humble opinion, XYZ will still be one of the top 3 at the end of year 2015. The other two may be CLUB and WANG or TOP.
