Fabulous: New ICANN rules ask for better info on expiring domains

Often, expired domains don't make it into the hands of bidders.

Often, domainers fail to stay informed about expiring domains in their portfolios.

ICANN has recently updated the rules and regulations governing domain name expiration notices.

Until now, it was pretty much left up to the registrars to send out email notifications for domains that were about to expire, or were recently expired.

Fabulous.com, a top domain registrar, has updated its email notifications to registrants, reflecting the changes in ICANN policy, as follows:

  • Domains that expire 30 days from now (mandatory)
  • Domains that expire 7 days from now (mandatory)
  • Domains that expire today (optional)
  • Domains that expired 4 days ago (mandatory)
  • On the 15th of each month, an email shows you all domains expiring the month after next. (i.e. on 15th April show all domains expiring in June) (optional)

The “mandatory” notifications above cannot be turned off.

Once again, Fabulous.com ensures that domain registrants remain informed and in control of their domain portfolios.
