It’s Festivus for the rest of us, along with Festivus.com, but for the first time in 20 years Frank Schilling is not master of this domain name.
Inspired by the Seinfeld episode about Festivus, the matching .com was registered in September 2000.
Frank Schilling kept the domain until earlier this year, clocking two decades with it. Alas, no more.
The domain is part of the portfolio of more than 300,000 domain names that were sold to GoDaddy along with various other assets of Uniregistry.
Now NameFind, the domain asset manager arm of GoDaddy, wants $39,999 dollars for Festivus.com.
Let’s all remember that story and air our grievances about the domain industry!
