Premium domain saved from UDRP

Great news for the fans of ultra-premium generic domain names!

The UDRP for the domain name, has ended with the Respondent keeping the domain, which was registered in 1997.

Filed in March, the UDRP was brought forth by Egton Medical Information Systems Limited of Yeadon, Leeds, United Kingdom, who claimed unregistered trademark rights in, where they operate from.

The domain transfer was denied.

Arguing over the blank page of not being a bona fide use of the domain, the Complainant attempted to establish a case when the owners indicated a selling price of $500,000 dollars. Later on, they raised the asking price to $2 million dollars.

The owners also own and according to the Complainant, this constitutes “cybersquatting.”

A three member panel at the WIPO decided this was not the case and the domain name remained with their owners.
