Domain investors in China, take notice: a new credit card worthiness system is taking effect soon, and it has the potential to affect the Chinese domain market.
Initially rolled out for 16 occupations such as public servants, real estate agents, tour guides, lawyers, teachers and pharmacists, the credit rating for trustworthiness will eventually expand to all professions.
Naturally, this is bad news for those accumulating large credit card debts in order to buy domains in China.
A blacklist will aim to punish dishonest companies and individuals; anyone blacklisted would be restricted from boarding planes and certain types of trains, and prevented from taking high-ranking positions in companies.
Chinese domain investors need to straighten out their credit card debt, for sure.
