Oh boy, where do we begin with this one.
In a recent article, we praised the alleged PR stunt of a company named “Rantic” for creating a mass source of traffic from zero in just three days.
That EmmaYouAreNext.com threat was a hoax, and the web site soon forwarded to Rantic.com, where a protesting message urged users to voice their opposition to 4chan – a web site where celebrities’ personal photos were also leaked.
However, the Rantic “social media” company is yet another figment of someone’s imagination, and it was created by someone who did not like 4chan to begin with.
So where does it all end?
What seems to be a 4chan retaliation, the Rantic.com web site has now been defaced by angry users of 9GAG, reddit, and Ebaumsworld; a partial screenshot of the defaced Rantic.com homepage is seen below.
The bottom line: The Internet is impossible to censor, and seeking to shut down a web site – even as part of a hoax – is not something to be taken lightly.
Rantic.com has been defaced by 4chan loyalists.
