Yesterday, Chinese domain investor “Wuyu” made a splash with 329 LLLL “Chips” being offered for sale.
This is by far the biggest ‘dump’ of a related domain portfolio we’ve seen so far, and the fun continued today.
Let’s get this out of the way with “Wuyu Part 2” – another long list of LLLL .com domains.
We counted 136 domains, for a grand total of 465 currently on sale, and apparently the asking price is $12k+ per domain.
Good luck with that, Wuyu. LOL.
Some folks asked how to best get those “gems” off the hands of their owner. Hint: Have you tried typing in the domains?

Two days of Wuyu lists have created a small backup with other domain sales, so here’s an update for the weekend.
We keep track of short domains, of between 2 and 4 characters in length, for the .CN and .COM TLDs.

How is this a ‘dump’ when the seller is asking more than 10K per domain?
Todd – Do you believe domains sell at their asking prices? Average sales price for chips is less than $1500 currently. And yes, flooding the market with inventory is a ‘dump.’
I have a lot more CHIPs than Wuyu and I have all mine listed for sale too. Offering domains for sale at retail/end-user prices is not a “dump’.
Todd – Feel free to disagree with this rationale, particularly as prices have plummeted. Realistically speaking, you won’t get more than the going rate for a commodity that was created artificially.
