Pro-blogger John Chow hosted an article written by Flippa marketing manager, Andrew Knibbe.
The title: “Domain Investing is Dead.”
Never read a bigger load of bullshit hosted on a “pro blog“.
But then again, I don’t read blogs of people who promote multi level marketing and how-to DVDs. It’s the kind of snake oil that doesn’t settle well with one’s stomach.
It’s also known to kill braincells.
Back to the article.
Andrew Knibbe posts inaccuracies, such as that Rick Schwartz has left the domain industry. I suppose Andrew also has a camera in Rick’s bathroom, as he takes a leak.
He then claims that a recent change of guard at parking companies, such as Sedo, is somehow related to an industry collapse – something quite far from the truth. People in the PPC industry get other related jobs, they don’t become restaurant servers.
Andrew Knibbe then links to the “Pro Guide to Buying websites” – a convenient backlink to Flippa.
The entire article is stepping on the toes of domainers collectively. Andrew Knibbe praises the benefits of development but has he seen the type of crap currently on Flippa?
When WordPress sites with the standard installation are being offered shamelessly on Flippa as “developed web sites”, then maybe domainers that prefer to park their domains are being more honest with the prospective buyers. Meanwhile, serial WordPress flippers churn out ridiculous long-tail web sites by the pound and push them on Flippa on a daily basis.
How is this crap benefiting the Internet more than undeveloped, parked domains?
Let’s not forget about the trademark violations offered on Flippa, again as “developed web sites”.
It seems that the modus operandi of the hosted writer of John Chow is high in monosodium glutamate. The entire article by Andrew Knibbe is nothing but a paid advertisement for Flippa. It’s insulting to domainers, including Flippa customers.
Oh, and happy 100th editorial.
