Earlier today, actor Charlie Sheen accidentally tweeted his phone number to all 5.5 million followers – effectively, the entire world.
Apparently, the tweet was meant to be a direct message to singer Justin Bieber.
Charlie’s number, 310-954-7277 blew up from several thousand calls and text messages.
Not surprisingly, someone went ahead and registered 3109547277.com and put up the following message:
“Hi, you’ve reached 310-954-7277. Charlie Sheen is not here right now, because the idiot tweeted his phone number to five million people. He’ll have to find another way to get a callback from Justin Bieber.”
The domain has privacy enabled; however its “smartass” registrant didn’t realize that Charlie Sheen would soon have his number disconnected; when one dials it, a message of the number being invalid comes up.
What a waste of reg fee – Charlie is winning! 😀
Maybe late followers out of the loop will call Charlie’s old number. I would sooner own a better domain, though the number site may generate some decent traffic.
