Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retail and grocery store with revenues larger than most Middle-East nations, has deployed a post-Thanksgiving special for all domainers.
“In agreement with Network Solutions, we’re now reselling domain name registrations,” said Frank Bithlo of Wal-Mart headquarters.
“For every pile of towels made in China that you buy, you gain 10 credits towards your Wal-Mart account, to be used for domain registrations” added Bithlo.
“Buy four pairs of extra large lacy ladies panties, and you add another 8 credits to your account, it’s how Wal-Mart plans to stay competitive!’ he exclaimed.
One domain registration per 10 credits will soon lead to millions of new domains being registered at WalMartDomains.com, the retailer’s own domain registrar. With competition among other retailers on the rise, the holiday season is expected to generate billions of dollars in revenue.
But not everyone will be buying into the Wal-Mart domain hype.
Several hundred Wal-Mart employees, aim to boycott this new endeavor, until they receive a hefty raise and health benefits.
“Wal-Mart doesn’t care for its employees, we get $9.20 an hour and that’s ridiculous, we can’t even take smoke breaks!” says J.R., a 22 year old single mom from Jacksonville, FL. “To make ends meet I have to work as a stripper during the weekends, damn you Wal-Mart!” she added, visibly dejected.
It’s doubtful that the uproar from current and past employees will stifle the growth of Wal-Mart domains division, that aims to become a top tier registrar by this time next year.

Could be a bit difficult to do since I currently
have WalMartDomains.com in my collection.
Maybe they’ll want to trade me a TV for it or, something else shiney.
:>)
Rob – Congrats! You won the outfit in the picture, extra tight.
Yep. Love yellow. Makes my skin a nice pale puke color.
LOL. Yeah I am sure they will contact me for the TM. But it’s
worth a shot. Might be willing to be generous as opposed to suing
me into the stoneage for it.
Who knows. hats off the the DOMAINGANG though.
Fake or not, it’s only 11 bucks to register for a year.
I like the bet.
My reasoning for buying it was the “idea” of Walmat going for it.
The “what if” factor is/was intriguing and who knows,
if the story is bogus, it may have roots in total reality and could
actually go viral. That’s why we do this, right?
