Prolific domainer blogger, Rick Schwartz, has retired from active blogging duty but his legacy remains at RicksBlog.com.
Reserved as a repository of conventional wisdom and solid domain sales, Rick’s blog remains untouched since last year.
Except, we were able to recover an unpublished post, printed on a piece of paper and thrown in the garbage.
Consuela Madeleine Ramos, Rick Schwartz’s cleaning lady from Guadalajara, is interested in domain investing and retrieved the yellowed out, crumbled piece of paper and read it; we are presenting it unedited below:
“Morning folks!
Many of you worry about how I’m doing and what is going on with my blog. Don’t worry, I’m doing just fine. I assure you, I never felt any better, taking a step back from active domaining.
There’s a lot of crap in this industry and I’m happy to be enjoying life. My cholesterol and blood pressure are finally normal. I wake up in the morning to exercise and plan my day and social activities. Quite often I do Latin dancing, you should try it sometime.
Just to let you know that I won’t be at THE Domain Conference, but Howard and Barbara are doing a great job setting up the stage for a big conference. If you’re smart, you will go and learn about domains from the best in the business.
I still get misty eyed every time a decision of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking is delivered at the WIPO. Those were the days that the poster boy from Brazil, Márcio Mello Chaves, started it all. Check out HallOfShame.com and Cybersquatter.com. Ah, the memories …
I still get inquiries for domains I own. As much as I want to tell those guys to GTFO I can’t turn down a good offer. Nothing less than $100,000. So you will continue to hear about me for the next 25 years at least.
I love ya, miss ya. Stay away from pigeonshit.
Rick.”
