Father’s Day is a major consumer-focused holiday in the US.
Its European origin places the original celebration in March, but in the US it’s on the third Sunday in June. You can thank former president, Richard “Dick” Nixon, for making it an official holiday in 1972.
So happy Father’s Day to all the fathers and dads out there, and to the mothers that put up with them.
Meanwhile, FathersDay.com is yet another domain that’s matching a major US holiday, and it’s definitely going to waste.
How so?
It’s not showing any content related to the celebration of the person who contributes 50% of your DNA. The domain is up for sale at Uniregistry Market, presumably with a high price tag.
Registered in 1995, the domain FathersDay.com was always parked on a variety of PPC providers, being “monetized” for its type-in traffic.
Keep in mind that undeveloped domains get no search engine traffic, so whoever types in the domain surely gets disappointed by its content, never to return.
Other similar domains that are going to waste include HappyHanukkah.com, HappyThanksgiving.com and VeteransDay.com.

Total waste of a great domain. Even if they just added a few pages it would increase the sale and value of Domain.
Tommy – I fully agree. Can’t trust domainers with quality domains! 🙂
