Crazy as it sounds, FDJ.com is now the youngest three letter .com domain in the known cosmos, with a December 13, 2019 registration date.
Years after all LLL .com domain permutations were registered, there are still such valuable, short .com domains that expire and drop.
How is it possible, that FDJ.com, a domain actively renewed between 1995 and 2019 to drop?
According to WHOIS history data, FDJ.com was managed by a ASJ, a Japanese Internet services company, using the email address jprs@asj.ne.jp.
It seems crazy that a company founded in 1984, with a capital of 1,373,383,954 yen ($12,561,074 USD) failed to renew their client’s domain asset!
The client was REAL ESTATE DATA and JOURNAL,INC. that provided content on Japan’s real estate market up until October of this year, according to Archive.org.
So what’s going on with FDJ.com now?
DropCatch caught it at the drop, which is something that happens often. The domain is now on auction, with 2 days to go, and a current high bid of $28,350 dollars.
What would happen once the previous owners realize their domain is no longer resolving?
There is a chance that lawyers would be involved, then again the domain might end up in Chinese domain investors’ hands.
Could a LL .com drop next? Anything is possible!
