Name.com issues final warning before two-factor authentication changes

If you’ve been following our coverage of the change to take place at Name.com, you’ve probably tweaked your account settings already.

For those domain investors with Name.com accounts that have a short memory span (hello Jared Ewy!) allow us to reboot your brain:

Name.com is changing its Two-Step Verification service on March 5, 2015. On that date Verisign credentials will be shut down, and we’ll exclusively use Google Authenticator for Two-Step Verification.

You can continue using your Verisign credentials until then, but if you do not add Google Authenticator credentials to your account by March 5 you will no longer have Two-Step Verification. Google credentials can be added at any time.

The Google Authenticator app is a free download, and is available on iOS, Android, and Blackberry devices.

Sadly, there is no desktop app like with the Verisign option, but oh well.
