Reactivation Period: eNom’s new game

It looks like a lot of eNom domains that are pre-released on NameJet are now sharing the same, new contact information in the WHOIS:

Reactivation Period (reactivation-pending@enom.com)
+1.4252744500
Fax: +1.4259744791
15801 NE 24th Street
Bellevue, WA 98004
US

Looks like a method to “wrap” the status of these domains into some legal pretext as they are tossed onto NameJet’s platform, all while someone didn’t pay the bills. 😉

Meanwhile, ReactivationPeriod.com is available to register, according to DomainTools 😀

What exactly does this mean? I am the owner of a website and another domain name that I’d like to acquire (extremely similar to my own) expired in Feb 2012 but is now showing up with the above info on WHOIS. I also got an unsolicited email asking if I wanted to buy said domain name at nearly 8 times its appraised value.

I owned this domain, which is my name and as far as I know I am the only person in the world with this name. I did not renew it on time and when I went to renew, I discovered that this company (on Whois) has pirated it and i cannot renew but can buy it from them for many times the price I originally paid. Can anyone tell me how to get my domain out of their clutches without having to pay through the nose for something that belonged to me in the first place? Not Happy.
