Alert: X3.com is currently a stolen domain; moved from eNom to Ename

stolen-domain-warningThe owner of the domain name X3.com shared with us that the domain is currently in the hands of a domain thief.

On April 5th, 2015, X3.com changed ownership “withing a window of 25 minutes” and was transferred from an eNom reseller – DreamHost – to the Chinese domain registrar, Ename.

The latter, has been popular with Chinese cybercriminals that stole many domains at various domain registrars throughout 2014.

Mr. AJ Alfieri-Crispin, legitimate owner of X3.com stated:

“Our personal domain name x3.com was stolen April 5, 2015. We have owned x3.com since 1995. Twenty years. Within a window of 25 minutes our domain registration information was changed at Dreamhost/Enom and then transferred to Ename in China. Think of the implications for you if someone had full control of your email address!!! I would love it if it could become well known this domain is stolen, and that anyone looking to purchase the domain should understand they are buying stolen property.”

We will update with any new information on the status of X3.com.

UPDATE: The domain X3.com has been recovered and is no longer stolen. More details here.
