Domain crime : More LLLL .com domains have been stolen

stolen-domain-warningSeveral four letter .com domains were reported as stolen by their owner; the LLLL .com domains were moved to a separate account at GoDaddy.

The theft occurred on November 15th, and it involved the following domain names:

  • DYYE.COM
  • LIEA.COM
  • WDRA.COM
  • MRRR.COM
  • MFFF.COM

In addition to these, B6F.COM and B4Y.COM were also stolen.

Short domains are currently being resold among Chinese domain investors, in a frenzy that has driven prices upwards; Chao Mi is a statistical tool that keeps track of such pricing trends on Chinese market places.

The high frequency of domain theft requires counter-measures to be in place: always enable two-factor authentication at your domain registrar.

If your domain got stolen, let us know; we report such incidents to a large domain base of investors.
