There’s nothing “happy” about Good Friday, however, as it’s the most somber of all the days in Christian Easter. Today commemorates the day that Jesus was crucified among two thieves atop the Golgotha hill. His eventual Resurrection comes next, along with Easter Sunday. You can say “Happy Easter,” most definitely, as Christ has risen at that point.
But Good Friday is not a day to wish someone a “happy day” like on Christmas, or on Hanukkah for that matter. So Mr. Trump displayed ignorance of his own faith.
