Despite record low temperatures in South Florida yesterday – West Palm Beach recorded a low of 32 degrees F – the heat is on at the turf of domain king, Rick Schwartz.
The disclosure at Rick’s blog of a private communication that turned ugly, generated a lot of friction in the form of arguments and even some extremely nasty and unprofessional commentary left by the person involved in the email exchange.
The domain in question is Porno.com – an asset of Rick’s that has been generating steady revenue for years, despite the apparent lack of any glossy illustrations.
Rick acquired the domain Porno.com in 1997, paying $42,000 – a fortune at that time, considering that the domain had just recently sold for $5,000 – but the domain paid back its acquisition cost in just two months.
Other prime adult domains that Rick Schwartz owns include Ass.com – at an acquisition cost of just $12,500 – and Stud.com
All three of these domains are currently renewed for the next 10 years, until 2020, which indicates that Rick has faith in the adult domain industry and the steady revenue that these domains generate.
No wonder that Rick Schwartz declined the proposal of redirecting valuable traffic to a second rate camera web site, in exchange for some measly conversion. As always, Rick can tell gems and pigeon shit apart at first glance. 😀

Hell Rick should have porno registered till the end of time..
porn will never lsoe value – well that is unless we all die in 2012 – then i dont think porno.com will be worth that much —-
Chris – Dang it, I totally forgot about 2012, why did you have to remind me???
I registered Stud.com in 1997.
However, we left it up to Mom to pay all the registration fees (hey, what else are Moms for?). However, when she saw the bill for Stud.com she was offended and declined to pay for it. I see that Rick acquired it in 1999. No idea who had it before him.
LOL @ David! I think all Moms are clones!!
David – What a story! I thought you’d explain to Mom that a stud is in fact an earring 😀
WE’VE ALL LOST GEMS TO FORGOTTEN RENEWEALS mainly due to credit cards dying.
