Shock, horror! On the Internet, all the good company names are taken

The tech sector in San Francisco is booming, and two thirds of all the office space is used by technology corporations.

That constant growth has led to a less obvious revelation: all the good company names are long gone.

With more than 112 million dot .com domains in active registrations, it is clear that the .com space is overcrowded and laden with second and third tier options.

Faced by this shortage of beachfront property, many companies would drop a vowel or two from the actual word, or utilize opportunity ccTLDs such as .me and .it for their domain names.
