With the coronavirus epidemic taking over our lives, we’re witnessing many industry events and community gatherings getting canceled. The big shocker was SXSW in Austin, Texas, an event that was not cancelled by its organizers, but the city of Austin for health reasons.
So what is the obvious alternative in conferences? Online conferences, of course, just like ICANN 67 that never happened in Cancun.
Namefind, the GoDaddy division of managing the corporate domain inventory, owns more than 1,000,000 domain names.
The number jumped after GoDaddy took over the bulk of Frank Schilling’s domain portfolio, to the tune of more than 350,000 domains.
The matching domain name, OnlineConferences.com is part of this NameFind portfolio of domains, and it’s listed at only $5,999 dollars! That’s a steal for an enterprising individual that’d create a full range of services catering to conference operators.
OnlineConferences.com is a domain from the famous Marchex portfolio, and was registered in 2001. Effectively, this 19 year old gem is virginal, as far as development goes.
Maybe Rick Schwartz’s next solo venture will be using this one. 😀
i wouldn’t spend $20 for online coferences.
