Google auto-complete to blame for Casey Anthony’s searches?

The drama behind Casey Anthony and her ongoing trial for the murder of her daughter, Caylee, took a strange twist earlier today.

Casey Anthony’s mother, Cindy, stated that it was herself and not her accused daughter that inadvertently searched for “chloroform“.

It appears that she was – in fact – searching for “chlorophyll” when Google’s auto-complete feature kicked in.

Google auto-complete: could it be a typo or a method to avoid murder charges?

So far we aren’t sure if this is true or merely an attempt by the defense of Casey Anthony to shake off the digital evidence from her computer, indicating that she used chloroform to knock off her own daughter.

It’d be interesting to see whether any computer forensic experts from Google can be asked to testify, as it’s known that Google stores more than just user IPs when searches are performed.

Don’t you just love the “not evil” Google empire?
