Premium single digit .ORG domain fails to secure reserve

1.org didn't sell today.

1.org didn’t sell today.

The ultra-premium domain 1.org (number “1”) failed to secure the reserve price earlier today at NameJet.

According to Domaintools, 1.org has a registration date of December 1, 1993, as a reserved .ORG domain.

Auctioned off through the .ORG Registry initiative that aspires to sell 94 domains one and two characters in length, 1.org is probably the ultimate numeric domain in the .ORG TLD.

The highest bid of $30,300 was placed by usual suspect user “aaaaaaaaa” who often bids high amounts on NameJet auctions.

There were 6 bids and 4 bidders above the $25,000 threshold, seen below:

aaaaaaaaa $30,300
crunchyg $30,200
aaaaaaaaa $30,001
hxcai $25,800
aaaaaaaaa $25,100
nostalgiadelluva $25,000

We aren’t sure what happens to those domains that don’t get sold.
