What’s that smell and pigeon feathers all about?

Just a few weeks ago we were talking about how Rick Schwartz has been using the term “pigeon shit” quite often, to describe domains that cannot be monetized and without reselling value.

Of those that took our poll about whether Rick should trademark this phrase, 62 per cent said that yes, Rick should trademark the phrase “pigeon shit”, since it’s such a distinct reference to a particular market segment.

Lo and behold, Rick’s new investment – after the various BP/oil leak/environmental disaster registrations – is the .CO domain PigeonShit.co

We’re not sure yet if it’s the beginning of a competitive service to PigeonDomains.com – after all, Rick’s known for investing in domains long term; with the current state of our bad economy many domainers are eager to let go of their crappy hand registrations.

It seems that being an early adopter of .CO pays out – we will wait and see how PigeonShit.co evolves in the coming weeks and months.
