While you were busy blogging …

Some people don’t get it.

Blogging, for the sake of churning out chunks of irrelevant information creates no long-term value for the readership audience it pertains to target.

For an industry as diverse and loosely defined as “domaining” – a word that still appears to be a typo in every major word processor – value is established by creating a “knowledge structure” – a building that consists of solid information blocks.

That’s the ideal scenario.

In reality, the route chosen most often is the sparse distribution of random tidbits that their creator hopes will become sticky and useful. It’s akin to the process of painting a fence with a fireman’s hose, only to affect the side walls of the house and the grass.

Blogging, unlike domaining, requires more skills than simply typing out one’s thoughts, opinions or random tidbits.

When you refer to yourself as a “pro blogger” and can’t stitch together two paragraphs of copy without resorting to 4th grade level syntax, there’s something wrong with your definitions. Unless, a “pro blogger” is someone that collects money for whatever content they produce, regardless of quality and purpose.

In the four and a half months since DomainGang was introduced, we’ve gradually witnessed the catalytic effect of our publication.

Domainer bloggers became aware of the amounts of bullshit our industry is immersed in; they started to voice their opinions and to question the holiness of idols, authorities and presumed leaders. Many have started to take reality with a pinch of salt, and have introduced humor to their writings.

The domaining industry consists of a diverse, global population of entrepreneurs that seek success but often fumble in the dark. Part of what we do is to utilize humor as the silent force that maintains the power of our headlights, thus avoiding the traps and pitfalls of everyday life.

But hey, this editorial is already one paragraph too long. Let’s get down to business!
